TIGs in the ROK

We welcomed one of our besties to the Republic of Korea and tried to show him the best of times.  Tigs was with us for three weeks at the end of January and it was a whirlwind of adventure.  We tried our best to show him the good, the bad and the ugly, essentially all Korea had to offer ...on weekends and after work.   Adding the third roommate to our one room apartment was fun. We miss him.

Jet lag is real.  First meal Korean BBQ.

The first weekend we went on an overnight trip with Adventure Korea, the same group we travelled with to the Mud festival last summer.  This time we went Adventure Caving, Fishing and Ziplining!  We travelled by bus to Pyeongchang County which was the smallest little town.

We experienced TOTAL darkness in White Dragon Cave.

Tigs successfully caught trout with his bare hands.  We couldn't quite handle it -saying the water was cold is an understatement.
We later roasted the fish on an open fire and ate them for dessert after an awesome BBQ dinner.   SO DELISH.

The following day Tigs partook in the optional morning hike, while Ben and I recovered.  We reunited later for Ziplining.

The next weekend we flew south to "Korea's Hawaii",  as the locals like to call it, JEJU-DOE.  Jeju is an island off the southern coast of Korea.  About a 45 Minute flight from Seoul, an awesome weekend adventure.

Alive: Trick Art Museum - cheeeesey but fun!

Jeju is most famous for its black pork BBQ, so we had to try it.  Was good, thought they could have left out the black stubble though.... the soju made it better.

Sunday, we found ourselves hiking the highest mountain in Korea, Mt  Hallasan.  It sincerely was a feat.  Our whole way up people were telling us to turn around, that we were not experienced enough, that we didn't have proper equipment (we had none)...and most people just pointed and laughed.  BUT WE DID IT. It was terrible and amazing at the same time.  We left palm trees at the bottom and were magically transported to the arctic tundra at the top.  There were times I thought of jumping.

Not even close to the top...

And of course, Jeju's famous Love Land.  A sex themed museum.
One photo is enough, HI GRANDMA!!

HERE'S SOME OTHER THINGS WE DID!

Tigs, Come back.
