Sunday Picnics

SPRING HAS TOTALLY SPRUNG.
And when I should have been working on report cards... I spent Sunday afternoon in the park with some friends.  This little haven is a 15 minute walk from my front door.  The colours are unbelievable.

Good company!

My LITTLE home away from home in Jeongja!

I've been super busy! I'm having a great time doing many things (blogs to come!)  Heres a quick glimpse into my neigbouhood AND apartment.  I live Jeongja-Dong, Bundang -gu, in the city Seongnam-si, in the province Gyeonggi-do.  My true address is about a page long.

Heres what its like:

I've played around with the the layout of my tiny apartment - a lot.  I'm still looking for some more things but this is it so far!
The style of the apartment is called an Officetel which is very common here.  Its basically a studio or bachelors apartment.

After several bottles of bleach, countless hours of cleaning, scavenging the neighbourhood for furniture to furnish my "furnished apartment" this is what I've managed to put together...

Cheers - until next time! xoxo

Advanced Junior English Institute - Or Just AJ's

YES. HELLO. HI.

I have been back in Bundang for almost a month now!  Its been a whirlwind. March was incredibly busy at work.  It was the beginning of a new school year and there were a whole slew of new teachers starting at the same time as me!  I survived it, not everyone did...  I am alive and beyond well.

I have miraculously been living without THE INTERNET or even a functioning phone.  It can be done ...but it hasn't been easy.  I'm hoping my Alien Registration Card comes in the mail this week so I can rejoin my life on both sides of the world.

Here are some photos of where I spend most of my time over here!

The calm before the storm.

and it begins...

I have taught children to read in a month!!  It is insane.  Some of these kids walked in with zero English.  This is all new to me - very little training but I'm figuring it out!

Workload here is extreme with very little appreciation but make your own happiness, right?

Tomorrow, me and my selfie stick are going to Seoul's Chinatown.  Cant wait to eat everything.
