Happy Chuseok!

This past weekend was Chuseok here, or in other words Korean Thanksgiving.  There was no road hockey tournaments or Turkey dinners, but we did get a 5 day weekend and we have a lot to be thankful for!

We've been doing great, not much has changed.  We've been keeping things relatively low key lately, or maybe I've just changed my standards on what is blog worthy...

The weather here have been absolutely fabulous.  Seems like we've lost all the humidity of the Summer and now we're just sitting in the high 20's.  We've been spending as much time outside as possible.  It's common to find us picnicking in the field RIGHT in front of our building (first picture) on the weekends - beauty thing is restaurants will deliver to anywhere for no charge!

We are so lucky to live in Bundang, we have it all within walking distance.  Both below pictures are a 5 minute walk away from our apartment.

North American major league sports could learn a thing or two from the Korean professional baseball league!  Not only was the game SO FUN, with all of the fans being extremely enthusiastic with cheers, songs and dances the whooooole time but everything was cheap!  As cheap as it was outside of the stadium!  Food and drink are sold from convenience stores and restaurants inside the stadium just like everywhere else in the country and the prices do not change.  Imagine paying $6 for a beer and a pretzel at the Skydome instead of $20.  Another quirky thing they do is hand out coloured plastic bags around the 7th inning, intended for self clean up...but everyone blows them up and ties them to their heads.  It's fun, trust me.

This Chuseok weekend foreigners (us) got HUGE discounts at the amusement park Everland and the water park Carribbean Bay.  Prices were more than half off!  We figured we should just cross both off our to-do list and hit both in one weekend.

The Safari was the best part!

Caribbean Bay!

Back to work tomorrow for the big 2 day work week then off to Japan for the weekend!  Harry Potter and sushi here we come!
